Halloween Bat Tortilla Chips
Bring these homemade bat tortilla chips to your next Halloween party and they’ll be sure to get everyone in the spirit! Requiring just a handful of ingredients and a few minutes of prep time, a little effort goes a long way in making the chips and guacamole section of the table that much spookier.
Ingredients
- 5 large flour tortillas
- California Olive Ranch 100% CA EVOO
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Guacamole or salsa for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Using a bat shaped cookie cutter and a rolling pin, press down on the tortilla with the cookie cutter and roll over it to help stamp out the bat shape.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the bats out in a single layer.
- Brush either side of the bats with California Olive Ranch 100% CA EVOO.
- Sprinkle bat chips with salt, pepper and paprika and place in the oven to bake.
- Half way through baking time take bats out and flip them to the other side.
- Place back in oven to bake until a deep golden brown.
- Remove bats from oven and let cool. They will harden and crisp up more as they cool.
- Serve with guacamole or salsa.
