Halloween Bat Tortilla Chips

Bring these homemade bat tortilla chips to your next Halloween party and they’ll be sure to get everyone in the spirit! Requiring just a handful of ingredients and a few minutes of prep time, a little effort goes a long way in making the chips and guacamole section of the table that much spookier.

Ingredients

  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • California Olive Ranch 100% CA EVOO
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Guacamole or salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Using a bat shaped cookie cutter and a rolling pin, press down on the tortilla with the cookie cutter and roll over it to help stamp out the bat shape.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the bats out in a single layer.
  4. Brush either side of the bats with California Olive Ranch 100% CA EVOO.
  5. Sprinkle bat chips with salt, pepper and paprika and place in the oven to bake.
  6. Half way through baking time take bats out and flip them to the other side.
  7. Place back in oven to bake until a deep golden brown.
  8. Remove bats from oven and let cool. They will harden and crisp up more as they cool.
  9. Serve with guacamole or salsa.
