Goat Cheese & Fig Crostini With Olio Nuovo & Honey Drizzle
Savory and sweet, these crostini make the perfect holiday appetizer. Toasted baguette slices are dipped in California Olio Nuovo for a rich, golden crispness, then topped with whipped goat cheese, fresh figs, and a drizzle of honey.
Ingredients
Crostini
1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds (about 16 pieces)
½ cup (120 ml) California Olio Nuovo, for dipping and drizzling
Goat Cheese Spread
8 oz (225 g) fresh goat cheese
2–3 Tbsp California Olio Nuovo (add more if needed for a creamy, spreadable texture)
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp fresh thyme (plus more for garnish)
Toppings
6–8 ripe figs, sliced
2 Tbsp honey, for drizzling
Optional: chopped pistachios, balsamic glaze, additional thyme, or flaky sea salt
Instructions
Prepare the Crostini
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pour Olio Nuovo onto a large plate or rimmed baking sheet. Dip each baguette slice on both sides to evenly coat.
Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Keep a close eye near the end — crostini can brown quickly.
Let cool slightly before topping.Make the Goat Cheese Spread
In a medium bowl, combine goat cheese, Olio Nuovo, honey, and thyme.
Mix or whip with a fork until smooth and creamy, adding a bit more olive oil if needed for a light, spreadable texture.Assemble the Crostini
Spread a layer of goat cheese mixture on each toasted baguette slice.
Top with sliced figs and drizzle lightly with honey.Finish & Serve
Add optional toppings such as chopped pistachios, balsamic glaze, or extra thyme.

Baker’s Notes
Dipping the bread in olive oil before baking ensures even browning and crispness.
Bake time can vary depending on your oven — check crostini at 10 minutes.
For best texture, assemble just before serving.
