Cast Iron Apple Crisp with Tahini Maple Syrup
Ingredients
Filling Ingredients:
8 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 lemon, juiced
⅔ cup cane sugar
1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
3 tbsp cornstarch
Topping ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup flour
½ cup cane sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup pecans, roughly chopped
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp salt
½ cup California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Tahini maple syrup ingredients:
¼ cup tahini
¼ cup maple syrup
1 tbsp California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the filling ingredients together until apples are evenly coated. Add to a 13inch cast iron skillet.
In a large mixing bowl, add all the topping ingredients and mix until well combined. Pour topping over the apple filling mixture into an even layer.
Bake for 50 minutes to an hour - until golden brown but not burnt.
While the crisp is baking, make the tahini maple syrup by whisking the ingredients together in a small bowl.
Remove the crisp from the oven and let cool for about 15 minutes. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream and drizzle on the tahini maple syrup.
